Hi All,

I just wanted to let you know I haven't fallen off the planet, but I have been away enjoying the Australian summer.  

I am back for a couple of weeks, before I jetset again.  

I will post again tomorrow with something 'copicly' beautiful.

 My youngest daughter just turned three!

We love having parties in our house, and a third birthday was the perfect excuse to throw a party!

I absolutely LOVE Kaiser crafts Flutterby set, and used it as the inspiration for the party invitations and decorations. 

Here are some pictures that my sister took of the table.

We had red and pink butterflies everywhere!  I used the paper set to make the cupcake holders, cones for the caramel popcorn, flags for the cupcakes, and the beautiful centerpiece that was made from a huge butterfly!

 

The whole room looked amazing with these huge pom poms that we had made and hung all over the ceiling!

My children and I had so much fun decorating together for this special celebration in our house!

 

We can't wait for the next one!

As most of you would already know, the papercraft world lost Katie Renz this week.  

This sad little angel was something that I was working on with Katie in mind!

I have hand drawn this angel using my Copic Multiliners...

 and coloured her using only Copic markers, Opaque White and Spica pens!

I created the babckground using my Copic Reinkers (V02 and B00).  I then airbrushed some punchinella using RV06.  I also airbrushed C-3 around the angel to give her a little bit of definition.

A creation in memory of Katie Renz, created with ONLY Copic products!

Many of you may know that she has a wonderful husband, 3 beautiful little boys, that she is a super Mommy and way talented crafter...she also has Stage 4 Gastic Cancer.

Today, her husband wrote an update on her blog. Although we have never met, her story touches me beyond words and my heart breaks for her and her family.  I am continuing to pray for Katie's Miracle!!!!! I hope will join me!

Lori Boyd at the start of the year was asked to design a stamp for Katie,and ended up getting an email from her telling her how much she loved it. She said it really was her boys. She was so very very sweet and very appreciative!  Sooooo, Lori and all of the BLD Team wanted to do a HUGE push of this image for her babies!!  Lori told her we were going to do this and that forever this stamp would be theirs!!  It just so happens that her 2 little guys have a birthday on the 19th of this month and her big boy has one on the 1st of December. I would LOVE to bless them with a wonderful birthday and Christmas, so that Kevin and Katie do not have to think of worry about that!

I wanted to show you my latest journal page!

This has just been completed and is hot off my art table!

I have hand drawn the whole page and used my Copics to add all the blended colour.

My drawing and journaling was done using my Copic Multiliners (0.1, 0.3, 0.5).

The whole page has been created on X-Press It Blending Card!!!

The quote I have used says, 

"Sometimes the dreams that come true are the dreams you never ever knew you had!"

Hello everyone,  

I have been MIA lately, as I have had my head down and bottom up indulging myself in some Mandi time!  

No I haven't been on holiday, instead I have been doing a great course by my friend Jane Davenport called Supplies Me.  

I am having such fun indulging my creative soul!  I thought I might show you my homework assignment that I just completed!

The only 'extra' materials that I used was a texture medium and glitter!

So many people have been asking me lately about Art Journaling!?!

I have kept art journals since I was in high school and it was a requirement to keep a journal for anything creative that we did. Back in those days it was called a Visual Diary! I didn't always enjoy documenting my though process as I was always in such a hurry to create the artwork...and dive into the paint!

As my studies progressed, and I suppose as I got older, I realised that what I was creating in my art journal was a piece of art in itself!!

I think with many things that we do, whether it be creative or not, we are in such a rush to get to the job done we tend to forget, or not thoroughly enjoy the journey to get to that finish line!

Now I think it is ALL about the journey...and much less about the finished product!


Since I am so involved with Copics, I have really tried to bridge the gap between traditional art journaling and art journaling with Copics. I endeavor to integrate the two wherever I can.

So I decided to take one of my art journals to an Intermediate Copic Certification that I was teaching recently. The feedback was amazing!

I thought I might show you just two of the pages.

This page has been created with ONLY Copic markers and multiliners. Who would have thought that there is not one drop of paint anywhere on this page!

The second page has been created with ONLY Copic multiliners and a touch of Spica! Even in journals....you STILL need bling!....right????

I absolutely love to doodle...and so this page was born from the simplest doodle, that took on a mind of its own!

If journaling is something you are interested in, please let me know, and I'll tried to post a little bit more on it and especially on how you can integrate journaling and Copics!

I just realised it has been way too long since I last posted!

My Copic work has been absolutely crazy (super great crazy). I have been interstate, and have had such fun teaching and meeting new amazingly talented people!
